The Best ATP Finals Multi Bet to Make This Thursday

Day five of the ATP Finals brings a conclusion to the round-robin phase of the tournament for one group. With all players still technically capable of making the semi-finals, there’s plenty to play for in Turin this Thursday. We’ve put together a sharp multi bet for the day’s play.

Jannik Sinner vs Daniil Medvedev

Palasport Olimpico, 14 November, 6:30am AEDT

Sinner to win 2-0 @ 1.83 (bet365)

You might think this is a bit of a crazy bet to make considering that in tennis, and especially indoors, anything can happen. But when it comes to Sinner, you can’t really go wrong here.

He’s seen Medvedev so many times in his career so far and beaten him the majority of the time. It's a matchup where he simply knows how to work it. They’ve played 15 times so far and Sinner won eight of those.

They played six times this year and Sinner won five of those, and the last six sets they played were 6-1, 6-4, 6-1, 6-4, 6-0, and 6-3 for Sinner. That’s not even close, so it’s simply a bet that makes a lot of sense at Australian bookmakers.

When you consider that Sinner is unbeaten indoors this year and that he’s playing on home soil backed heavily by the crowd, then the chances for Medvedev go down considerably.

In that sense, the odds are quite misleading, being as high as they are. This is simply because 2-0 in tennis usually isn’t the smartest bet. We think it’s very smart in this spot though, and the best way to start your multi betting this week.

Taylor Fritz vs Alex de Minaur

Palasport Olimpico, 14 November, 12am AEDT

Fritz to beat De Minaur @ 1.36 (bet365)

Fritz and De Minaur are an entirely different matchup compared to the one above. For starters, De Minaur has given Fritz quite a few problems in the past, beating him six times in nine matches.

The most recent match was also one that De Minaur won comfortably, which makes this even more interesting. There is no question that Fritz is playing better tennis right now, though.

Even so, De Minaur is quite feisty as a player and quick too. It’s not impossible for him to play his typical chase-down style and force Fritz to hit many balls, which he might overhit at times. We could see the Australian winning a set here, but we still think that Fritz should be able to power through.

Ultimately, on a hard court, it comes down to the weapons, and De Minaur has no signature weapons. The forehand is okay at best. The backhand is solid, however, a signature weapon, he doesn’t have.

Fritz to win first set @ 1.44 (bet365)

After laying out why the matchup between de Minaur and Fritz could be somewhat complicated, here’s why backing Fritz to win the opening set makes a lot of sense.

First of all, the American is known for starting really well. He likes to take initiative both in rallies and in the match, so he will be looking to win this opening set.

De Minaur might also take some time to really figure out how to counter the matchup as he feels out Fritz indoors. They never played indoors, so that’s likely to contribute to that.

There have also been a couple of instances where Fritz took the opening set against him. Ultimately, if it comes down to a tiebreak, which might happen, the serve of Fritz is likely to tip the scale on his side.
