It’s the middle weekend of the Australian Open, and time to rack in some returns on another sharp multi bet this Saturday. With the men’s and women’s singles third round concluding, we’ve pieced together a parlay that is a strong chance of hitting for a 3x return.
Australian Open Multi Bet With 3x Return on Round 3 Action
Best Multi Bet for Australian Open Round 3
Alex de Minaur vs Francisco Cerundolo
Melbourne Park, January 18th, time TBC
Over 28.5 games @ 1.40
Alex de Minaur has played very solid tennis so far at the Australian Open, but he's going to face a tricky player in the third round. Francisco Cerundolo is highly streaky and, at his best, can be almost impossible to beat.
He has such a snappy play style that when things are going well for him, it's tough to counter. De Minaur is well equipped to handle his style of play, but it won't be that easy. While he has been playing aggressive tennis for a while, this approach is still not natural for him.
It's more natural for Cerundolo though, and with the way he's looked so far in Melbourne, it seems like he could catch fire. De Minaur winning is more likely to happen than not, but we doubt he will do it below this line.
If Cerundolo only wins one set, this bet is a lock to pay. Even if not, he can keep it close, with a score like 6-4, 7-5, 6-3 more than enough to make the total go over this line. The line has been set very low by Australian betting sites in our opinion, making it the perfect leg to open our multi bet.
Jannik Sinner vs Marcos Giron
Melbourne, January 18th, time TBC
Under 3.5 sets @ 1.55
Jannik Sinner finally lost a set at this year’s Australian Open. It was the first time the Italian has dropped one in three months, showcasing just how good he has been. His level and more importantly, consistency, is why we’re going to back him to return to his ruthless ways on Saturday.
Losing that set against Schoolkate should force him to take his third-round meeting with Marcos Giron a bit more seriously. He really shouldn't be dropping sets this early in the event - it’s just unnecessary exhaustion at this point, something he’ll be looking to avoid.
Giron just doesn't have the weapons to trouble Sinner too much. They played only once, and that was a straight-sets win for the Italian. Giron also played two very long matches in the first two rounds, which will likely contribute to the American having some tired legs in this one.
The fact that Sinner dropped a set in his previous match makes us only more confident to back this to happen, as he sets a high bar from himself and will be eager to make amends.
Ons Jabeur vs Emma Navarro
Melbourne, January 18th, time TBC
Jabeur to win a set @ 1.40
Emma Navarro is through to the third round of the Australian Open, but hasn’t impressed in either of her matches so far. The American hasn’t looked great at all this year, playing pretty wonky tennis at times.
Ons Jabeur, meanwhile, has looked sharp. The three-time Grand Slam finalist is back to playing what could be considered close to her best tennis, not dropping a single set so far at the Australian Open. She also bested Navarro the only time they played, though that was almost three years ago, and Navarro has improved dramatically since then.
Even so, Jabeur winning a set is basically a gift at this point, especially with these odds across betting sites in Australia. Navarro has lost a set in both of the matches she’s played this week, and against an opponent of Jabeur’s calibre, it’s a strong chance of happening again.
In fact, Jabeur will likely win the match, but to make it a safer bet, back her to win at least one set for the final leg of your multi this weekend.
Multi Bet of the Weekend
Legs | Odds |
De Minaur vs Cerundolo over 28.5 games | $1.40 |
Sinner vs Giron under 3.5 sets | $1.55 |
Jabeur to win a set vs Navarro | $1.40 |
Total Odds: 3.04 Bet $100 for a $304 Payout with Bet365 |
