Week 1 BBL Multi Bet – How to Get a 10x Return

The Big Bash League gets underway this Sunday, and there’s some great betting action to be had across betting apps. We’ve dug deep and found three of the best bets to make on week one of BBL14, which combine for a multi bet with a 10x return!

Perth Scorchers vs Melbourne Stars

Sunday 15 December, 7:15pm AEDT, Optus Stadium

Scorchers to beat Stars @ 1.68 (Bet365)

Perth Scorchers return to the Optus Stadium following a third-place finish last BBL, and take on the Melbourne Stars in their first assignment. Ashton Turner and co will be eager to get their new campaign underway with a statement win against Melbourne.

Australian betting sites are considering the away side as the underdogs and for good reason. The Stars have lost in all of their last six meetings with the Scorchers. They also have some big absentees like Glenn Maxwell and Ben Duckett heading into this clash.

So, we expect the hosts to extend their unbeaten run, and it’s a great way to open your multi bet too.

Sydney Sixers vs Melbourne Renegades

Monday 16 December, 7:15pm AEDT, Sydney Cricket Ground

Sixers to beat Renegades @ 1.73

The Sydney Sixers fell agonisingly short of adding a fourth Big Bash title to their cabinet last season. So, they will be hoping to start their redemption arc with a victory in their 2024/25 opener, and betting sites are backing them as the favourites to do so.

The Renegades finished second to bottom last season, so the team management has made some smart overseas acquisitions. However, their overall squad remains relatively poor.

With odds of 1.73 at Bet365, expect the Sixers to pick up their ninth consecutive win against the Renegades.

Sydney Thunder vs Adelaide Strikers

Tuesday 17 December, 7:15pm AEDT, Manuka Oval

David Warner best Thunder batsman @ 3.50

The Sydney Thunder had a forgettable Big Bash 23/24 campaign. They will be looking at their captain David Warner to deliver, if they are to have a good season this time around. The veteran Aussie opener will be keen to start strong, and to take advantage of Strikers’ bowling vulnerabilities to get the Thunder off to a flier.

The Strikers have some big-name batters in their lineup, but they have brought a relatively inexperienced bowling attack to the competition. They might find it difficult to tame the home team’s swashbuckling opener and captain, so back Warner to top score.
