Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | August 17th

We are off to Rosehill for another Saturday multibet as we take on the horse racing bookmakers in New South Wales. The ground looks like being slightly on the soft side of good but there should not be any excuses for any of the runners.

Rosehill R1 #5 - Dawn Service $2.50

Showed promise at Kensington on debut but improved massively on that when absolutely bolting in at Hawkesbury on his second start. Both of those came on soft ground so it was even more remarkable that the time that he produced was such a quick one. That improvement came for the step up to 1300m from 1100m and he should have plenty more to come after just the two career starts. Has a long way to go to live up to his huge price tag but he looks a nice type in the making.

Rosehill R4 #8 - Lost $2.80

Was 0/2 first up when heading to Warwick Farm at the end of July. She absolutely bolted up and heads here on her second start, a run where she is a perfect 2/2 so far. That recent win was her first on soft ground as well so perhaps she has simply come back a stronger and better mare. If that is the case, then Godolphin is going to have a lot of fun with her through the spring. She already carries a rating of 77 so she could make up into a black type performer.

Rosehill R6 #4 - Tarpaulin $3.20

James Cummings and Godolphin could be set for an excellent Saturday at Rosehill. This looks like a solid edition of the Listed Rosebud so he has to run a career-best performance here if he is to win. Yet to run at this level, he encounters horses with group race form already in their back catalogue. The big advantage that he has over those types is that he is rock-hard fit and his two main rivals are both having their first race action since March. They are likely to improve straight past him next time up but on this occasion, the Godolphin colt can have the advantage.

Stats and Insights

  • Rosehill is a galloping track that gives all runners a chance from in front and behind.
  • James Cummings has had three runners at Rosehill this season for a winner and two seconds. He runs both Lost and Tarpaulin.
  • More than 2000m around, Rosehill has a straight of just over 400m.
  • Only one hoop with 75+ rides at Rosehill in the last 12 months has a better strike rate than Tim Clark who rides Dawn Service.

It is an interesting afternoon of racing at Rosehill on Saturday. A typical pre-spring card with some very smart types making their comebacks against race-fit rivals. That suggests that the betting sites are worth watching closely for odds moving.
