EPL 2023/24 Matchweek 1

The 2023-24 EPL season kicks off this weekend with a full slate of 10 games. The players and fans have waited weeks for this moment and are raring to go. To celebrate the season starting we have some free EPL Multi picks for you. This week, we’re backing the Over 2.5 goals in Man City vs. Burnley, both teams to score in Newcastle vs. Villa, and Brighton to beat Luton Town.

Burnley vs. Manchester City

Turf Moor, 5.00 AM, Saturday, August 12

If there’s been one constant in the EPL  over the past few seasons it’s that Man City will score goals against Burnley. In their last five matches, Man City have outscored Burnley 17-0. Man City racked up that amazing record all without Erling Haaland as well.

Barring a catastrophe by City, the Cityzens should once again shell Burnley in the Premier League. Most betting sites have set the Over/Under line at 2.5 goals. Given the history between these two teams, we think this is low. We’re taking Burnley vs. Man City OVER 2.5 goals at $1.60..

Newcastle United vs. Aston Villa

St. James' Park, 2:30 AM, Sunday, August 13

Villa and Newcastle should be two of the better non-Big-6 clubs in the EPL this season. Sunday’s matchup will tell us a lot about whether these clubs have what it takes to live up to their big offseason expectations.

Under Eddie Howe, Newcastle are known for playing attractive, attacking football. Villa under Unai Emery should be more focused at the back, but big acquisitions like Moussa Diaby also mean they have what it takes to score. These teams played to a 3-3 draw in the offseason. We expect something similar this weekend, so we are taking Both Teams To Score at $1.70

Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Luton Town

Amex Stadium, 12:00 AM, Sunday, August 13

Luton Town surprised everyone last season by coming up from the EFL Championship via the promotion playoffs. Frankly, it also seems like the club surprised themselves and are not yet ready for the EPL. Luton are widely tipped to go down by all the best soccer betting sites. Brighton also surprised the world by qualifying for the Europa League.

If last season’s trends hold, Brighton should handily beat the Hatters. We are being safe with our last EPL Multi pick and backing Brighton to win against Luton at 1.30.
