English Premier League Multi bet of the Weekend | Matchweek 19

This week, we like Aston Villa to beat Brighton at home, Chelsea to do well at Ipswich Town, and OVER 2.5 goals in Manchester United vs. Newcastle.

After their 0-0 draw with Brentford on Friday, Brighton have now gone six matches without a win. They have not won at Villa Park since 2020 and lost this fixture 6-1 last season. Despite this, the betting sites don’t have Aston Villa as big favourites. 

You can argue that Brighton are better away from home and that Villa struggle to rotate. However, the Seagulls have overperformed their xG offensively and defensively away from home. Additionally, Villa don’t seem to struggle as much on short rest when it’s not after a Champions League match.

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea slipped up against Fulham on Boxing Day, but they are still a much better side than Ipswich Town. The Tractor Boys have the worst attack in the EPL according to xG and have conceded in 14 straight matches. 

Chelsea, on the other hand, have the league’s best attack away from home. The Blues have scored 23 goals in just 9 away matches and look primed to score more in Matchweek 19. 

Ipswich have conceded 2+ goals in two of their last three home games, so we think Chelsea will win by at least two goals. Our pick is Chelsea -1.5 @ $2.08.

December 31, 7:00 AM, Old Trafford

Manchester United have only taken 7 points from Ruben Amorim’s six matches in charge so far. There are problems all over the pitch for the Red Devils. Their defence is not settled and no one can score consistently. That second problem will be even worse this week with Bruno Fernandes out injured. 

Newcastle, meanwhile, have won four straight and have scored 3+ goals in each of their last four matches. We think they are good money to get another win this week, but we are going to play it relatively safe and bet on the goals instead.
