Liverpool’s draw with Fulham means Chelsea are just two points back in the Premier League title race. The Reds still lead the race according to the soccer betting odds, but things could flip this weekend if they drop points again.

Aston Villa vs. Manchester City
Villa Park, 11:30 PM, Saturday, December 21
Manchester City are in freefall. Following their loss to Manchester United last weekend, the Sky Blues have now won only one of their last 11 matches since October 30. Fortunately for Man City, Aston Villa aren’t exactly in the best form right now either.
Unai Emery’s team have just one win in their last five Premier League games. Last week, they threw away all three points to Nottingham Forest after the 87th minute, much like City lost to Man Utd.
To be fair to Villa though, most of their poor results have been on the back of Champions League fixtures. That won’t be the case this week though, so we like Villa’s chances of winning this match.
Aston Villa vs. Man City Prediction: Aston Villa 2-1 Man City
Predicted Lineups
Aston Villa: Martinez; Konsa, Carlos, Torres, Digne; Kamara, Tielemans; McGinn, Rogers, Cash; Watkins
Man City: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Gvardiol, Nunes; Gundogan, Silva; Savio, Foden, Doku; Haaland
Brentford vs. Nottingham Forest
Gtech Community Stadium, 2:00 AM, Sunday, December 22
Brentford’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge means they are still winless away from home this season. At the Gtech Community Stadium though, the Bees are the best team in the Premier League.
Thomas Frank’s team have won seven of their eight home matches this season and have scored 26 goals in those matches, six more than the second-best team.
Nottingham Forest aren’t bad away from home (4W, 2D, 2L), but Brentford’s record is hard to overlook. We also have to point out that the Bees have a perfect record in their last six matches against the Reds (3W, 3D, 0L).
This should be one of the tightest games of the Premier League weekend, but our EPL predictions have Brentford coming out on top.
Brentford vs. Nottingham Forest Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Forest
Predicted Lineups
Brentford: Flekken; van den Berg, Collins, Pinnock, Lewis-Potter; Norgaard, Janelt, Damsgaard; Mbeumo, Wissa, Schade
Forest: Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Williams; Dominguez, Anderson; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood
Ipswich Town vs. Newcastle
Portman Road, 2:00 AM, Sunday, December 22
Ipswich Town picked up their second win of the season last weekend with a 2-1 win at Wolves. Newcastle, meanwhile, took care of business at home and battered Leicester 4-0.
As impressive as the Tractor Boys’ win was against Wolves, we can’t make a strong argument for them winning this weekend. Ipswich starting forward Liam Delap will miss this game via yellow card suspension, which will put all of the club’s attacking responsibility on Omari Hutchinson.
Newcastle have been very inconsistent defensively this season, but can’t see Hutchinson or any other Ipswich player troubling them here. Kieran McKenna’s side have scored just four goals in their last five matches.
Even if Ipswich score, Newcastle should be able to outscore them. The Magpies have scored 10 goals in their last five and Ipswich have not kept a clean sheet in 12 straight matches.
Ipswich Town vs. Newcastle prediction: Ipswich 0-2 Newcastle
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Newcastle To WIN & OVER 1.5 Goals | $2.00
Both Teams To Score - NO | $2.30
Race To 2 - Newcastle | $1.88 |
Predicted Lineups
Ipswich: Muric; H.Clarke, O’Shea, Burgess, Davis; Morsy, Cajuste; Hutchinson, Chaplin, Szmodics; Al-Hamadi
Newcastle: Dubravka; Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall; Tonali, Guimaraes, Longstaff; Murphy, Isak, Gordon
West Ham vs. Brighton
London Stadium, 2:00 AM, Sunday, December 22
Brighton will be looking to put things right after suffering an embarrassing 1-3 defeat at home to their bitter rivals Crystal Palace last weekend. With that result, the Seagulls are now on a four-match winless streak.
West Ham, on the other hand, will be hoping for another strong performance to keep the good times rolling after beating Wolves two weeks ago and drawing with Bournemouth on Monday.
Unfortunately for Hammers fans, Brighton have been a bit of a bogey club for their side. West Ham have won just one of their 14 Premier League games against Brighton since 2017. They have never beaten Brighton at home in the Premier League.
Based on current form, we probably should give the edge to West Ham, but we think this recent run is just a rare blip for Brighton. They are good money to put things right and get back on the right track against West Ham on Saturday.
West Ham vs. Brighton Prediction: West Ham 1-2 Brighton
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
West Ham Goal Range - Between 1 & 2 Inclusive | $1.58
UNDER 3.5 Goals | $1.60 | |
Draw No Bet - Brighton | $1.72 |
Predicted Lineups
West Ham: Fabianski; Coufal, Mavrapanos, Kilman, Wan-Bissaka; Alvarez; Paqueta, Soucek, Kudus, Summerville; Bowen
Brighton: Verbruggen; Veltman, van Hecke, Igor; Estupinan; Baleba, Ayari; Minteh, Rutter, Mitoma; Pedro
Crystal Palace vs. Arsenal
Selhurst Park, 4:30 Text:AM, Sunday, December 22
While they were wasteful against Everton last week, Mikel Arteta’s side have a great overall record. They are on an eight-match unbeaten streak. Palace are also in good form right now, having just one loss in their last nine matches.
Both teams will get the chance to extend those streaks midweek, when Arsenal host Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup on Wednesday. Whatever happens in that match, we like the Gunners’ chances here.
Arsenal have won four straight against Palace. The Eagles scored just 1 goal in those losses and have allowed Arsenal to score first in six of their last seven meetings. If the Gunners create as many chances as they did against Everton last week, they are bound to score and get the win here.
Crystal Palace vs. Arsenal Prediction: Palace 0-2 Arsenal
Predicted Lineups
Crystal Palace: Henderson; Chalobah, Lacroix, Guehi; Clyne, Hughes, Lerma, Mitchell; Sarr, Mateta, Eze
Arsenal: Raya; Partey, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber; Odegaard, Merino, Rice; Saka, Havertz, Trossard
Everton vs. Chelsea
Goodison Park, 1:00 AM, Monday, December 23
Following their impressive 0-0 draw with Arsenal, Everton are expected to do well against Chelsea this weekend. Our EPL predictions see things going differently though.
Compared to other top teams, Arsenal are a bit limited offensively. That’s not true about Chelsea. The Blues have the best attack in the EPL, with 37 goals in 16 matches this season. They have scored 17 goals in their last five matches across all competitions. Enzo Maresca’s team also has the best away record in the league, with six wins, one draw and one loss so far this season.
Everton have the seventh-best defence in the EPL and Sean Dyche's sides are never easy to beat, but Chelsea have a great attacking record and should do well here.
Everton vs. Chelsea Prediction: Everton 0-2 Chelsea
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Chelsea To WIN & OVER 1.5 Goals | $1.88
Both Teams To Score - NO | ||
Chelsea To Score OVER 1.5 Goals | $1.55 |
Predicted Lineups
Everton: Pickford; Young, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Mangala; Ndiaye, Doucoure, McNeil; Calvert-Lewin
Chelsea: Sanchez; Gusto, Tosin, Disasi, Colwill; Fernandez, Caicedo; Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson
Fulham vs. Southampton
Craven Cottage, 1:00 AM, Monday, December 23
Southampton finally pulled the plug and sacked their manager Russell Martin. Saints lost 0-5 to Spurs in the Welshman’s last game. We don’t expect Fulham to win by quite that much, but the Cottagers should do well here.
Fulham drew 2-2 against a 10-man Liverpool last weekend and have a great home record (4W, 2D, 2L). The Cottagers have lost just one of their last eight matches overall this season.
Fulham’s form tells us that this will be an extremely difficult game for Southampton. With that being said, both teams have scored in each of Fulham’s last eight matches and 10 of the last 11, so Saints should get at least one goal in this match.
Fulham vs. Southampton Prediction: Fulham 3-1 Southampton
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Southampton Goal Range - Between 1 & 2 Inclusive | $1.72
OVER 3.5 Goals | $2.30 | |
Fulham To WIN & BTTS YES | $2.70 |
Predicted Lineups
Fulham: Leno; Tete, Diop, Cuenca, Robinson; Lukic, Berge; Iwobi, Smith Rowe, Wilson; Jimenez
Southampton: McCarthy; Walker-Peters, Harwood-Bellis, Bednarek, Manning; Aribo, Downes, Dibling, Fernandes; Armstron, Archer
Leicester City vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers
King Power Stadium, 1:00 AM, Monday, December 23
After losing a relegation six-pointer at home against Ipswich Town, Wolves have sacked their manager Gary O’Neil. The club have already agreed for Vitor Pereira to be their new new head coach, but it’s unlikely he will be available for this weekend’s big game.
Star attacker Matheus Cunha is also unlikely to be available after he was charged for misconduct by the FA for getting into an altercation with an Ipswich staff member post-match.
Even without the chaos at Wolves right now, we would like Leicester’s chances here. The Foxes’ record at home is respectable compared to the other relegation contenders this season. They also have been a bit more solid defensively than Wolves, who continuously give up goals that no team should be conceding.
Our EPL predictions have this being a draw, but if we had to pick a winner it would be Leicester.
Leicester vs. Wolves Prediction: Leicester 2-2 Wolves
Predicted Lineups
Leicester: Hermansen; Justin, Coady, Vestergaard; Kristiansen, Skipp, Choudhury; McAteer, Buonanotte, Mavididi; Vardy
Wolves: Johnstone; Semedo, Bueno, Toti; Doherty, Andre, Lemina, Guedes; Bellegarde, Strand Larsen, Hee-chan
Manchester United vs. Bournemouth
Old Trafford, 1:00 AM, Monday, December 23
Manchester United are on the top of the world after beating their rivals Manchester City 1-2 in the Manchester Derby last season. If there is any team to bring them back down to earth though, it would be a team like Bournemouth.
The Cherries defeated Man Utd 0-3 at Old Trafford and held them to a 2-2 draw at home last season. Andoni Iraola’s team is even better this year. They are currently in sixth and look to be a real contender for European soccer next season. Bournemouth also have a very strong record away from home, with three wins in eight tries so far.
Ruben Amorim could be building something special at Old Trafford. For now though, his team looks a lot like the old Man Utd, so we are taking Bournemouth to get at least a draw here.
Man Utd vs. Bournemouth Prediction: Man Utd 2-2 Bournemouth
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Double Chance 2 - Bournemouth WIN or DRAW | $2.00
Both Teams To Score - YES | $1.55
OVER 2.5 Goals | $1.58 |
Predicted Lineups
Man Utd: Onana; de Ligt, Maguire, Martinez; Mainoo, Fernandes, Ugarte, Dalot; Diallo, Hojlund, Garnacho
Bournemouth: Arrizabalaga; Smith, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Cook, Christie; Tavernier, Kluivert, Semenyo; Evanilson
Tottenham vs. Liverpool
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, 3:30 AM, Monday, December 23
Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Fulham means the gap between first and second is just two points. The Reds are still title favourites, but things could change with a loss this weekend.
Tottenham, meanwhile, will be looking to build off their dominant 0-5 performance against Southampton. That win is Spurs’ only win in their last five matches. Liverpool have still yet to lose since suffering a defeat to Nottingham Forest back in September.
Given their recent record, Liverpool are the deserved favourites here and we expect them to do well. It should also be a high scoring match. Five of Tottenham’s last six EPL matches have featured more than 2.5 goals.
Tottenham vs. Liverpool Prediction: Tottenham 1-2 Liverpool
Predicted Lineups
Tottenham: Forster; Porro, Dragusin, Gray, Udogie; Sarr, Bergvall; Kulusevski, Maddison, Johnson, Son; Solanke
Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Quansah, van Dijk, Gomez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Diaz
