Brentford vs. Liverpool
Gtech Community Stadium, 11:30 PM, Saturday, February 17
Brentford have been back to their best since Ivan Toney returned from his suspension. He’s scored three goals in four matches and unlocked his partner Neal Maupay, who has netted five goals in his last six matches. Unfortunately for the Bees, they haven’t been getting the points their performances deserve. A 2-0 win last week against Wolves last week could be a turning point though.
Liverpool’s recent results, meanwhile, have probably flattered them. Jurgen Klopp’s team still looks disorganised defensively. They have enough firepower to outscore most teams, but when they play a top team, like Arsenal who beat them 3-1 two weeks ago, anything can happen.
We think Brentford’s direct attack will cause Liverpool problems this weekend. Liverpool will probably still get the win, but the Bees should get at least one goal here.
Predicted Lineups
Brentford: Flekken; Collins, Pinnock, Mee; Roerslev, Jensen, Norgaard, Janelt, Reguilón; Toney, Maupay
Liverpool: Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Gomez; Elliott, Mac Allister, Jones; Diaz, Jota, Nunez
Burnley vs. Arsenal
Turf Moor, 2:00 AM, Sunday, February 18
Burnley surprised everyone last week by getting a goal against Liverpool and actually looking threatening at times. Arsenal also delivered a surprising performance by battering West Ham 6-0 at the London Stadium. If we had to bet on which team was going to repeat their performances from last week, our money is definitely going on the Gunners.
Burnley are in 19th place for a reason. Yes, they can play pretty soccer at times, but they just don’t have the talent to compete with quality Premier League teams on a regular basis.
Arsenal beat Burnley 3-1 in November. Their defence, and particularly their press, have improved a lot since then. The Gunners should smother the Clarets and get an easy win on Saturday night. Like against Liverpool, we’ll be surprised if Burnley even score in this one.
Predicted Lineups
Burnley: Trafford; Assignon, O’Shea, Esteve, Delcroix; Ramsey, Berge, Brownhill, Odobert; Fofana, Foster
Arsenal: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Rice, Havertz; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli
Fulham vs. Aston Villa
Craven Cottage, 2:00 AM, Sunday, February 18
Have Aston Villa fallen off? That’s the question every Premier League fan is asking right now after the club’s loss to Manchester United.
The Villains have won ust one of their last six matches, and that one win was against lowly Sheffield United. They’ve lost three straight at Villa Park, which was previously a fortress for Unai Emery’s side.
Fulham are coming out of slump with a 3-1 victory against Bournemouth last week. Like Villa, Fulham are much better at home than away. They could cause real trouble for an out-of-form Villa side.
A draw seems likely here, but you wouldn’t be crazy for betting on either side to win this one outright.
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Draw No Bet - Aston Villa | $1.68
Draw No Bet - Aston Villa | $1.70
Double Chance 1 - Fulham WIN or DRAW | $1.64 |
Predicted Lineups
Fulham: Leno; Castagne, Diop, Ream, Robinson; Palhinha, Cairney; De Cordova-Reid, Pereira, Willian; Muniz
Aston Villa: Martinez; Cash, Carlos, Lenglet, Digne; Tielemans, Luiz; Bailey, Diaby, McGinn; Watkins
Newcastle vs. Bournemouth
St. James' Park, 2:00 AM, Sunday, February 18
Newcastle have scored more than three goals in five of their last six matches. You have to go back to Boxing Day to find a match where they scored less than two goals. This is great, except, the Magpies aren’t stopping anyone from scoring either.
The last team Newcastle shut out was Luton Town on December 23. More recently, Luton put four goals past Eddie Howe’s side just two weeks ago. Last week, Nottingham Forest scored twice.
These stats are great news for Bournemouth. Only six teams in the Premier League have scored more goals away from home than the Cherries. Playing at St. James' Park is definitely an advantage for Newcastle, but Bournemouth are probably liking their chances in this one.
We’re backing Newcastle to get the win here, but we think this one could be another shootout for the Magpies.
Predicted Lineups
Newcastle: Dubravka; Trippier, Schar, Botman, Livramento; Longstaff, Guimaraes, Miley; Almiron, Wilson, Gordon
Bournemouth: Neto; Kerkez, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Kelly; Christie, Cook, Tavernier, Scott, Sinisterra; Solanke
Nottingham Forest vs. West Ham
The City Ground, 2:00 AM, Sunday, February 18
West Ham suffered their most embarrassing result in years last week when they were demolished 6-0 at home by Arsenal. Fans left the London Stadium by the thousands at half time and calls for David Moyes to be sacked are louder than they ever have been.
Nottingham Forest played to yet another 3-2 loss last week against Newcastle. It was their fifth 3-2 loss of the season. With that loss, the Reds are 16th in the table, just two points out of the relegation zone.
As much as it’s in Moyes’ DNA to get a big win when his back is against the wall, we don’t see it happening here. Forest are desperate for points and everyone knows how to beat West Ham.
We’re expecting Nottingham Forest to play much more conservatively in this one. A 0-0 or 1-1 draw is the most likely result here.
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
UNDER 2.5 Goals | $1.92 | |
Draw No Bet - West Ham | $2.05
Double Chance 2 - West Ham WIN or DRAW | $1.60 |
Predicted Lineups
Nottm Forest: Sels; Danilo, Niakhate, Murillo, Tavares; Yates, Dominguez; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Awoniyi
West Ham: Areola; Coufal, Zouma, Aguerd, Emerson; Soucek, Phillips; Kudus, Ward-Prowse, Johnson; Bowen
Tottenham vs. Wolves
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, 2:00 AM, Sunday, February 18
A 96th minute goal put Spurs past Brighton last week. This win put Tottenham firmly inside the top 4. Fourth place now looks like it’s theirs to lose.
Wolves, meanwhile, look firmly set to finish the season as a comfortably mid table side. The club’s 2-0 loss to Fulham last week saw them fall from 10th to 11th. They’ll have a chance to leap back into 10th this weekend against Spurs.
Tottenham are very good at home, but struggle to keep clean sheets anywhere. Wolves aren’t spectacular scorers, but they are a dynamic side with more attacking prowess than most people think thanks to stars like Pedro Neto, Matteus Cunha, and Hwang Hee-chan.
Spurs know Wolves’ goal scoring ability well as they lost 2-1 to them at the Molineux via two goals in second half injury time. We think this will be another match with lots of goals, but we’re giving the edge to Spurs.
Predicted Lineups
Tottenham: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Bissouma; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Richarlison
Wolves: Sa; Kilman, Dawson, Toti; Semedo, Lemina, Gomes, Ait-Nouri; Sarabia, Cunha, Neto
Manchester City vs. Chelsea
Etihad Stadium, 4:30 AM, Sunday, February 18
Chelsea put up 0.00xG in the first half of their match against Crystal Palace last week. The Blues went into the second half down 1-0. Goals from Conor Gallagher and Enzo Fernandez saved Chelsea, but it was not a convincing performance.
Manchester City look more convincing than ever. Whether it’s in the EPL or the Champions League, the Cityzens look unplayable right now. It’s no wonder the betting sites have them as favourites to win both competitions.
We like to provide a little more analysis than just saying one team is better than the other, but there’s not much more to say than that here. Chelsea are inconsistent in all phases of play, while City look composed and clinical everywhere.
We’re going for a big Man City win on Sunday morning.
Predicted Lineups
Man City: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Ake; Stones, Rodri; Foden, De Bruyne, Alvarez, Grealish; Haaland
Chelsea: Petrovic; Gusto, Disasi, Colwill, Chilwell; Caicedo, Fernandez; Palmer, Gallagher, Sterling; Nkunku
Sheffield United vs. Brighton
Bramall Lane, 1:00 AM, Monday, February 19
Sheffield United finally crossed the 11-point mark last week with a surprise victory over fellow relegation candidates Luton Town at Kenilworth Road. Brighton, meanwhile, were on the wrong end of a 96th minute match winner against Spurs last week. This week, we’re expecting things to be easier for the Seagulls, but we’re not counting out the Blades.
Brighton actually drew 1-1 at home against Sheffield United earlier this season. That was before Chris Wilder took over though. Since Wilder’s been back at the wheel, the Blades have been much more open at the back as they try and fight their way up the table.
Brighton beat Wilder’s SheffU side 5-2 at Bramall Lane in the FA Cup at the end of January. We’d be surprised to see such a high score line in this one, but the result should be the same. Another win for Brighton is on the cards here.
Predicted Lineups
Sheff Utd: Foderingham; Bogle, Holgate, Ahmedhodzic, Robinson, Lowe; McAtee, Souza, Hamer, Osborn; Archer
Brighton: Steele; Veltman, Van Hecke, Dunk, Estupinan; Baleba, Gilmour; Buonanotte, Gross, Mitoma; Ferguson
Luton Town vs. Manchester United
Kenilworth Road, 3:30 AM, Monday, February 19
Luton Town kept Manchester United for nearly an hour the last time these two teams played back in November at Old Trafford before Victor Lindelöf scored the match winner in the 59th minute. This was the only goal in that match.
Both these teams have looked like completely different teams in the New Year, so we’re hesitant to put too much stock in that result, but we think it might actually be the template for what we see on Monday.
Even at their best this season, Manchester United have needed some luck. Luton at their best are a solid defensive team whose creative attackers thrive in transitional moments. Would it really be that surprising if this match ended up being a close one?We don’t think so.
We’re giving Man United the edge here, but we expect Luton Town to make it difficult for them.
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Man United To WIN and Both Teams To Score - YES | $3.10
Both Teams To Score - YES | $1.60
OVER 2.5 Goals | $1.54 |
Predicted Lineups
Luton Town: Kaminski; Burke, Osho, Bell; Ogbene, Lokonga, Barkley, Doughty; Clark, Adebayo, Morris
Man Utd: Onana; Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Shaw; Mainoo, Casemiro; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund
Everton vs. Crystal Palace
Goodison Park, 7:00 AM, Tuesday, February 20
Few teams in the league are in worse runs of form than Crystal Palace right now. We expect Roy Hodgson will be sacked any day now. The worst thing is, we’re not even sure a new manager will change things. This is an old side who struggle to score with their stars Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise out.
This season might just be about holding on and hoping there are three worse teams below them at the end of it.
Everton, one of the teams currently below Palace, could not have a better opponent than the one they have this week. Yes, Sean Dyche is known for playing defensive soccer, but his sides press and harass the opposition. That’s the last thing a team like Crystal Palace wants right now, especially playing in a hostile environment like Goodison.
This should be a convincing win for Everton.
Predicted Lineups
Everton: Pickford; Godfrey, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Garner; Young, Harrison, McNeil; Calvert-Lewin
Crystal Palace: Henderson; Munoz; Andersen, Richards, Mitchell; Ayew, Wharton, Lerma, Franca; Mateta, Edouard
