Crystal Palace vs. Manchester City
Selhurst Park, 10:30 PM, Saturday, April 6
Crystal Palace may have a new manager, but they are in the same position now as they always are this time of the season; on the beach. The Eagles are likely safe from relegation and nowhere near the relegation places. They have nothing to play for this weekend.
When you add in that Palace are also much worse than Man City, it makes sense why this is the most lopsided fixture of EPL Matchweek 32.
With that being said, the betting sites actually don’t think this will be that big a blowout for City. The spread in this match is just -1.5 goals for City and the Over/Under line is set at 2.5 goals.
City have been on a scoring drought recently and Palace never give up many goals, so these lines make some sense, but we can’t look past the quality gap between these sides. Betting ATS for City or the Over are both good bets here.
Predicted Lineups
Crystal Palace: Henderson; Ward, Anderson, Lerma; Munoz, Wharton, Hughes, Mitchell; Ayew, Mateta, Eze
Man City: Ortega; Lewis, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol; Rodri, Nunes; Foden, De Bruyne, Doku; Haaland
Aston Villa vs. Brentford
Villa Park, 1:00 AM, Sunday, April 7
Aston Villa gave Manchester City a game during the week and nearly stood toe-to-toe with the reigning champs before a bizarre play by Nicolò Zaniolo to dip out of the way of a Phil Foden free kick.
Brentford, meanwhile, parked the bus against a struggling Brighton side to secure a 0-0 draw at home. This was the first time in six matches that both teams had not scored in a Brentford match.
Unai Emery’s Villa side similarly have given up a lot of goals recently. They have just one clean sheet in their last seven Premier League matches.
Unless Villa decides to park the bus like Brentford did against Brigthon, both sides should have plenty of chances to counter and score. The Villains are the better and more consistent side, so we’re backing them to win here, but BTTS - YES is probably the best value bet for this one.
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Goal In Both Halves - YES | $1.48
Both Teams To Score - YES | $1.55
Aston Villa To WIN | $1.66 |
Predicted Lineups
Aston Villa: Martinez; Konsa, Carlos, Torres, Moreno; Bailey, McGinn, Luiz, Tielemans; Watkins, Duran
Brentford: Flekken; Zanka, Ajer, Collins; Roerslev, Onyeka, Janelt, Jensen, Reguilon; Toney, Mbuemo
Everton vs. Burnley
Goodison Park, 1:00 AM, Sunday, April 7
Sean Dyche faces off against his old side in this one, and at just the right time. Everton have not won a game in 23 matches. They’re in danger of slipping into the relegation zone if this run continues, or if they are charged with another PSR violation. They need points.
If your problem is that you need points, playing Burnley is a good solution. The Clarets have just four wins on the season and are likely to go down. However, they have lost just once in their last five games and have been shut out just once.
This could actually be a tricky fixture for Everton. The Toffee’s schedule has been a bit brutal recently though, and they’ve been competitive about every game they’ve played in. They should break their duck this week and get all three points.
Predicted Lineups
Everton: Pickford; Coleman, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Young, Garner, Gueye, McNeil; Doucoure, Calvert-Lewin
Burnley: Muric; Vitinho, O’Shea, Esteve, Taylor; Foster, Berge, Cullen, Larsen; Odobert, Fofana
Fulham vs. Newcastle
Craven Cottage, 1:00 AM, Sunday, April 7
Newcastle nearly played in a ‘normal’ game last matchweek when they drew 1-1 with Everton. A late penalty in that match stopped the Magpies from winning their second on the bounce. As it stands, Newcastle are in 8th and have won just two of their last five.
Eddie Howe’s side have just two shutouts in their last dozen matches. One of which was against Fulham. We wouldn’t bet on that happening again this weekend though.
The Cottagers have scored multiple goals in four of their last five matches. Each of their last nine matches have featured over 2.5 goals. This includes their disappointing 3-1 loss to Nottingham Forest last matchweek.
Overall, these are two good but flawed sides who know how to play counter-attacking soccer. We should be in for a good game this weekend. Our pick for this one is a high-scoring draw.
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Double Chance 2 - Newcastle To WIN or DRAW | $1.58
OVER 3.5 Goals | $2.25 | |
Draw No Bet - Fulham | $1.75 |
Predicted Lineups
Fulham: Leno; Castagne, Tosin, Bassey, Robinson; Palhinha, Cairney; Iwobi, Pereria, Willian; Muniz
Newcastle: Dubravka; Krafth, Schar, Burn; Hall; Longstaff, Guimaraes, Willock; Murphy, Isak, Gordon
Luton Town vs. Bournemouth
Kenilworth Road, 1:00 AM, Sunday, April 7
Bournemouth are on a five-match unbeaten streak. One of the matches in that streak was their miraculous 4-3 comeback victory over Luton Town at home. The betting sites have the Cherries as big favourites to get another victory this week. We aren’t so sure though.
Luton Town at Kenilworth Road are still a team not to be trifled with, especially since they are fighting to stay in the Premier League while Bournemouth have nothing to play for.
Five of Luton’s last six matches have been draws or one-goal losses. We think they are good value to get at least a draw here.
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Double Chance 1 - Luton WIN or DRAW | $1.90
OVER 2.5 Goals | $1.50 | |
Double Chance 1 - Luton WIN or DRAW | $1.88 |
Predicted Lineups
Luton Town: Kaminski; Hashioka, Mengi, Kabore; Onyedinma, Mpanzu, Barkley, Doughty; Clark, Morris, Chong
Bournemouth: Neto; Smith, Zabarnyi, Kelly, Kerkez; Christie, Cook; Semenyo, Kluivert, Tavernier; Solanke
Wolves vs. West Ham
Molineux Stadium, 1:00 AM, Sunday, April 7
West Ham and Wolves both came away with 1-1 draws in the last matchweek, against Burnley and Tottenham, respectively. We think those matches were a good template for what we will see this weekend.
Both these sides value pragmatism above all. Against sides about their level, a draw is always a likely outcome. The problem for Wolves here is that West Ham are not at their level. The Hammers are above them.
Since the return of Lucas Paqueta, West Ham have looked, at times, like one of the best teams in the Premier League. Wolves have shown quality this season too, but with Pedro Neto and Hwang Hee-Chan out, we can’t see them hanging on with West Ham under normal circumstances.
On the bright side, West Ham are terrible away from home. If Wolves play to their level, this should end in a draw.
Bookmaker | Tip | Odds |
Draw No Bet - West Ham | $2.00
Both Teams To Score - YES | $1.60
Draw No Bet - West Ham | $1.96 |
Predicted Lineups
Wolves: Sa; Bueno, Kilman, Toti; Semedo, Lemina, Gomes, Doherty; Sarabia, Cunha, Ait-Nouri
West Ham: Fabianski; Coufal, Mavropanos, Zouma, Emerson; Soucek, Alvarez; Bowen, Paqueta, Kudus; Antonio
Brighton vs. Arsenal
American Express Stadium, 2:30 AM, Sunday, April 7
A loss to Brighton late last season by Arsenal allowed Man City to get back in the title race and cost the Gunners their first Premier League title in over a decade. Could it happen again this year? Our betting experts don’t think so.
Arsenal smothered Brighton the last time these two teams played. The final scoreline of 2-0 made that match look closer than it actually was. In reality, the Gunners pressed so high up on the Seagulls so effectively that they could have scored 5.
This match is at the Amex, so it could be different, but this Brighton side is also much weaker than the one Arsenal played on December 18th. Kaoru Mitoma, Solly March, Billy Gilmour, and Jack Hinshelwood are out injured. Evan Ferguson could also miss the match.
With all this being said, De Zerbi’s side always has a trick up their sleeve. Arsenal should get the job done here, but we’re expecting this to be one of the most exciting matches of the weekend.
Predicted Lineups
Brighton: Verbruggen; Veltman, Van Hecke, Dunk, Estupinan; Gross, Baleba; Buonanotte, Enciso, Adingra; Pedro
Arsenal: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior; Odegaard, Jorginho, Rice; Saka, Havertz, Martinelli
Manchester United vs. Liverpool
Old Trafford, 12:30 AM, Monday, April 8
Liverpool survived an early scare from lowly Sheffield United during the week and remained their 2-point lead atop the Premier League table. Manchester United, meanwhile, threw away all three points to Chelsea after giving up two goals in the 100th and 101st minute of a match at Stamford Bridge.
On paper, this should be an easy win for Liverpool, but as we saw in the FA Cup before the March international break, Manchester United know how to cause this Liverpool side problems. Playing at home should also give the Red Devils a fighting chance. Ultimately, though, this Man Utd team is too inconsistent to count on.
No team in the Premier League has given up more shots than Man Utd. Liverpool have taken 59 shots in their last two matches. Klopp’s sides should have plenty of chances to score against Manchester United. If you give them chances, they will score and should win this match.
Predicted Lineups
Man Utd: Onana; Wan-Bissake, Varane, Maguire, Dalot; Casemiro, Mainoo; Antony, Fernandes, Garnacho; Hojlund
Liverpool: Kelleher; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Endo, Szoboszlai; Salah, Nunez, Gakpo
Sheffield United vs. Chelsea
Bramall Lane, 2:30 AM, Monday, April 8
Chelsea have needed five goals from Cole Palmer to get results in their last two matches, a 2-2 draw with Burnley and a 4-3 win over Man Utd. He won’t need to work as hard this week.
Sheffield United gave Liverpool a tough battle for 45 minutes last week before their lack of quality came through. We’re expecting something similar this week with Chelsea. The Blades are bottom of the table with just three wins to their name.
The last time these two played, Chelsea came away with a simple 2-0 win. It could be trickier for the Blues playing away from home, but it really shouldn’t be. This should be an easy win for Chelsea.
Predicted Lineups
Sheff Utd: Grbic; Holgate; Ahmedhodzic, Robinson; Bogle, Souza, Arblaster, Hamer, Osborn; McBurnie, Brereton-Diaz
Chelsea: Petrovic; Gusto, Chalobah, Badiashile, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Madueke, Palmer, Sterling; Jackson
Tottenham vs. Nottingham Forest
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, 3:00 AM, Monday, April 8
Nottingham Forest stunned Fulham last matchweek in a 3-1 win for the Reds. Tottenham, meanwhile, played to a 1-1 stalemate against West Ham. Despite the good result from Forest and disappointing one from Spurs, the betting sites have this as a pretty lopsided match. We agree with them.
Tottenham have one of the best home records in the league, while only four teams are worse than Forest on the road. Forest haven’t beaten Spurs in the Premier League since 1999. In fact, Tottenham have won by at least two goals in every Premier League match between these two since Forest were promoted in 2022.
Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham are just two points back from fourth place. We expect them to get all three points from this match and to potentially finish this weekend in the top four.
Predicted Lineups
Tottenham: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van De Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Bissouma; Johnson, Maddison, Werner; Son
Nottm Forest: Sels; Williams, Omobamidele, Murillo, Aina; Yates, Danilo; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood
