Euro 2024: Free Tips & Today's Best Bets | 15 June, 2024

Euro 2024 kicks off on 14 June, but things don’t really get started until the 15th. This is the first real day of tournament action with three matches taking place on one day. This preview will help you get ready for all of them.

Like Turkey at Euro 2024, Hungary are everyone’s dark horse pick. We’re not sure they will live up to the hype, but their recent form points to it being a strong tournament for the Hungarians. Hungary have lost just one of their last 16 matches.  

The Swiss are coming into this European Championship after a shaky qualification campaign where they finished second in a group behind Romania.  

Defensively, Switzerland have one of the best defences in the tournament. Their attack, however, is still reliant on ageing stars like Xherdan Shaqiri. They still have enough talent to get past Hungary, but it could be close.  

We could see this one ending in a draw or Swiss win, so Draw No Bet - Switzerland is the best bet here.

Croatia have qualified for the knockout rounds of every major tournament they’ve played in since 2016. Spain, meanwhile, have some of the best players in the world. 

The last time these two faced off was in the 2023 Nations League final. The match ended 0-0, then Spaniards came out on top in penalties. This Spain team is a lot different than that one.  

Luis de la Fuente had been in charge for just a few months before that match. His current Spain team now play a much more direct and attacking style than they showcased in the Nations League. When you combine this with Croatia and Spain’s quality, we’re expecting goals.

Despite being reigning European Champions, soccer prognosticators have not given Italy a lot of love ahead of Euro 2024. Yes, they are favourites against Albania, but, given the gap in quality between these teams, they should be a lot bigger favourites.  

Goalscoring has long been Italy’s only problem. They won Euro 2020 without a genuine goalscorer. They were set to have the same problem in Euro 2024.  

However, Gianluca Scamacca has emerged as one of Europe’s most clinical strikers. If he shows up on Saturday, Italy should have no problem beating Albania by at least 2 goals.
