Two draws and a win in Group A saw Switzerland advance to the Round of 16. Their hoping to repeat their feat from 2020 of knocking out one of the favourites in the Round of 16. If you’re Swiss, we like your chances.  

Italy laboured to a second place finish in the so-called Group of Death that was Group B. Against better teams, like Spain, Italy were outmatched. The Azzurri outclassed Albania, but still struggled to get a win. Against Croatia, Italy needed a 98th minute goal to get a draw.  

Despite Italy’s reputation, this is anyone’s game. In a match like this between two even sides, Both Teams To Score is a safe bet.

Germany dominated Group A, winning two of their three Group A matches. Young midfielders Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz have been the Germans’ marquee players while Toni Kroos dictates tempo from the back. Lumbering striker Niclas Füllkrug has also shown up when necessary. Simply put, Germany is stacked.  

Denmark have had a solid tournament, qualifying out of a turgid Group C via three draws. Getting out of the group is always impressive, but they don’t have the talent to compete with Germany.

As good as Germany have been in their three Euro 2024 matches so far, their defence has not been the most solid. Manuel Neuer and an extremely active midfield who are solid in possession have masked these faults, but it could come back to bite them, especially with Jonathan Tah out due to a red card suspension.  

The Danes, meanwhile, have only kept one clean sheet in their last six competitive matches. One of those fixtures was against lowly San Marino.  

The Euro betting sites may disagree about whether the over is more likely than the under here, but we think it’s a safe bet. Whether it’s Denmark giving up goals to a better Germany side or the Germans finally cracking under pressure, we expect goals here.
