Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend| January 6th

There is some good handicap action at Randwick on Saturday for our multitip, including some unexposed and progressive types.

We landed a perfect 3/3 on our multitip last Saturday to end 2023 on a high note. We are back to try and hit the horse racing bookmakers for a second week in a row and get 2024 off to a flying start. Randwick is our track of choice for our three selections.

Randwick R4 #1 - Terra Mater $1.85

A winner over 1200m at this track in December, she came from close to the back of the field to get her head in front late in the day. She is up 100m in trip here, a distance she won over at Hawkesbury in June. Adaptable on both good and soft ground, she is a progressive type and a perfect 2/2 so far this prep. This is slightly better company, but she shapes it as if it will not be a problem.

Randwick R7 #9 - Cool Jakey $2.90

There is plenty of pace here, which includes the selection. He was very impressive from the front at Warwick Farm last time, but he will not find it so easy on the speed here with Felix Majestic in opposition. The hope is that the pair do not ruin the race for one another as this gelding has some excellent back form in the book, including finishing just half a length behind Hawaii Five Oh last March.

Randwick R10 #7 - Shaken $2.80

Godolphin filly returned from almost five months off to salute on a heavy surface at Warwick Farm a few days before Christmas. Her other win came on a soft surface, but she has plenty of solid trial form to believe she won’t be inconvenienced by good ground. Her dam won the 2014 Blue Diamond at Caulfield, so she is bred to be better than this Bm70 class, and after only four starts, she still has time on her side to show that she can live up to her cracker of a pedigree.

Stats and Insights

  • Over 2,200m in circumference, Randwick has a finishing straight of 400m, which is slightly uphill to make it a good stamina test.
  • Inside barriers are favoured somewhat in sprints but have a more significant advantage in the 1800m and 2000m races.
  • Tyler Schiller is the leading jockey at the track this season, with 13 winners. He rides Cool Jakey in the middle leg and Shaken in the final leg.
  • Nash Rawiller rides Terra Mater in the opening leg, operating at a 21% win rate at Randwick this season.

We were delighted to end 2023 with a huge winning multitip last week, but it’s back to business with another one on Saturday, where we have some lovely unexposed types to go to war with who look capable of improving further.
