Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | June 8th

It is not a classic card at Flemington this weekend but there are some nice types on show who could be a little better than they have been able to show of late in handicaps. These ones are always interesting to take on the horse racing bookmakers with as they are sometimes bigger prices than they ought to be.

Flemington R1 #1 - Pisces $3.60

The weights will make this more of a test for the Godolphin-owned gelding but he has already got two wins on the board and was close to making it three last time out when he was just run down late on. None of those with form in the book have made the running like he has and it is hard to think that the newcomers are going to be streetwise enough to be able to put him under pace pressure early. Has to give weight away all around but this maps out with him getting a soft time of things on the front.

Flemington R4 #3 - Quantum Cat $3.40

Runner-up the last twice over slightly shorter trips, doing all of his best work late on in the piece. A long straight at Flemington has the potential to be perfect for him to produce some quick late sectionals again now back up to 2500m. He has only had eight starts in his life so there is the potential for better to come from him for powerful connections so it would not be a surprise to see him finally gain a well-deserved first win away from synthetics.

Flemington R6 #12 - Silent Surrente $4.20

Solid performer in South Australia, producing a consistent level of form at Morphettville in her autumn prep. Placed in all three of her starts, two at Listed level and one in a Group 2, she has touched down in Victoria looking to gain a little more luck. She stays 2000m well, runner-up to one of the fastest improving types in the country last time out in the shape of Sea What I See. That level has to be highly respected in this sort of company and she has an inside barrier to take a handy early position which is from where she often shows her best form.

Stats and Insights

  • lemington is more than 2300m around with a run of 450m from the turn into the straight to the winning line.
  • Damian Lane is the winningest jockey at Flemington in the last year. He gets the mount on Pisces and Quantum Cat.
  • A low barrier is helpful in races from 1400m up to 2000m as a lot of the race is run on a steady turn.
  • The barrier draw in sprint races can vary by meeting depending on where the pace is.

Winter is upon us now that we are into June and we hope to start the season with a winning multibet. The three selections are all capable of winning at the level that they are running in on Saturday and should be right in the mix once more.
