Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | November 9th

It is another Saturday with some unexposed types at Doomben. They are the upwardly mobile horses that we like to look for to take on the horse racing bookmakers with our multibet at the weekend. Let’s take a look at the three for this week.

Doomben R3 #2 - Metalart $2.60

Won a Bm65 over this track and distance back in April but has been dropped in distance for all starts since. Saluted in the first four starts in his career, beaten both times he has raced this season. The first of those was a Bm85 and the most recent saw him only beaten a touch over a length. In both of those, he has been ridden further back in the field than he was when winning last season. It would be ideal to see him more forward now.

Doomben R4 #19 - Anderson $3.20

Lots of scratches on the card so he has easily made it into the race as the third reserve. Has only had four starts in his life so there should be plenty of progression to come from him. Shown some smart form on the speed and even though this is a big enough field, he should be able to get close to the front here. Arrives looking for a hat-trick of wins, saluting over an extra 50m to this at Eagle Farm on his most recent start.

Doomben R8 #1 - Kronenbourg $2.90

Appreciated the return to 1600m when winning at Eagle Farm on his most recent start. Has solid form over a longer trip than this so once he got to the front, it was always going to be hard for his rivals to come past him. Should be on the speed again here and once more, he can wind things up from on the pace and grind things out on the front end. Has a handy inside barrier to do that from so that should make him a hard horse to beat.

Stats and Insights

  • Doomben is an oval track of more than 1,700m in circumference.
  • Nikita Beriman only started riding for Matthew Hoysted this season, getting 52% into the first three. They combine with Anderson.
  • When it comes to the barrier draw at Doomben, inside is strongly preferred in races over shorter distances. The bias disappears in races run over further than 1600m.
  • Tony Gollan is the leading trainer at the track. The stable has a lot of runners here but they have had 61 winners in the last 12 months, looking for another with Kronenbourg.

Two of our three picks in the multibet this week have just 10 starts between them. Doomben will see them in action this weekend but they have the untapped potential for bigger things to come from them on future Saturdays.
