Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | December 14th

There are some strong-looking contests at Caulfield on Saturday on the Heath track. A couple of our selections ran really well last time out and they drop into an easier contest this weekend. That should make them the ones to be with when taking on the horse racing bookmakers.

Caulfield Heath R4 #5 - Flying Fizz $2.40

Hugely impressive at Donald last time out, tearing apart a Bm70 by three and a half lengths. She produced a very notable time with that success, especially given the grade. That run was the first time that she has been ridden by Linda Meech who gets the job to steer her home in front again. This track often favours those on the speed and the mare has drawn barrier two. She should quickly be on the pace and could be very hard to catch again.

Caulfield Heath R6 #3 - Miraval Rose $3.00

Third in a Listed race on her first start of this prep over 1100m on the main track here. She travelled beautifully through that race but found others just had a few too many guns when the sprint for home started. Up to 1200m now and a little bit fitter is going to suit her well and this is a slightly easier contest than that one. She won a Listed race here in December 2023, runner-up in a Group 3 race the month prior on the main track. That form stands out for her at this level.

Caulfield Heath R9 #3 - Warnie $2.30

Beaten a quarter of a length on his first run of this prep at Flemington on good ground. He followed that up with a third-place finish just a length behind the winner on his second start. That was a Group 3 on a heavy surface on the main Caulfield track. He saluted the only time that he raced over 1500m so the return to this slightly longer distance should suit him well. This is an easier contest so there is a lot in his favour after just seven career starts.

Stats and Insights

  • Caulfield Heath is inside the main Caulfield track.
  • Matthew Williams and Lina Meech have combined on 11 horses this season, five have won! They combine with Flying Fizz in leg one.
  • The first meeting at Caulfield Heath was only in March of 2024 so we are still learning about the track.
  • Grahame Begg has had 11 runners at Caulfield Heath, producing five winners, four seconds and a third!

The Heath track at Caulfield has only been in action for nine months so it is still very much in its infancy compared to most. These are three strong picks on Saturday afternoon with a couple of them ticking plenty of boxes when it comes to their respective races.
