Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | January 18th

There are a couple of favourites that can justify the short odds this weekend at Rosehill which we hope can beat the horse racing bookmakers. If all three of them salute, we are looking at a potential return of $672 for our multibet.

Rosehill R3 #5 - Polyglot $2.10

Found Listed company a little bit too tough for him at such an early stage of his career when last seen at Flemington in September. He had a win, a second and a third in three starts prior to that. All of his races have come on ground that has been on the soft side so he is going to have no issues with the prevailing conditions here with plenty of juice in the ground. Surely is going to be better than a Bm70 performer in time for his powerful connections.

Rosehill R5 #1 - Gilded Water $2.00

Has been impressive in two runs so far in Australia since arriving from the UK. They were both on quicker ground than he was going to face on this occasion but he was a winner on soft ground at Chepstow when trained in the northern hemisphere and conditions can get very deep there. Won by more than three lengths at Randwick last time out and looks the type to have plenty more improvement still to come.

Rosehill R6 #9 - Perfumist $3.20

The Bjorn Baker-trained filly has won her last three starts, stepping up each time into a slightly better level of race. This is a similar strength of contest to the one that she won last time out when she ran out a very impressive winner. She was strong at the line that day over a shorter distance, the step back up to this distance is going to be a big plus for her. Those recent wins all came on good ground but she saluted on soft when breaking her maiden.

Stats and Insights

  • Rosehill is a track of more than 2000m around with more than 400m up the straight which makes it a very fair racecourse.
  • James McDonald has a 28% strike rate at Rosehill over the last 12 months for a level stakes profit of +17. He rides Polyglot for James Cummings in the first leg.
  • As with most tracks, it is the inside barriers that make the most appeal at Rosehill, especially all the way up to 1800m.
  • Bjorn Baker and Tyler Schiller have a 33% strike rate when they team up this season as they do with the final leg, Perfumist.

All three of our multibet selections this week have the potential to do better still than the decent level of form that they have already produced. The betting sites have them on top of their rivals on Saturday and so do we.
