Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | April 20th

It is an interesting card at Eagle Farm on Saturday and one that we have studied for our Saturday multibet selections.

We have three bigger priced selections than is often the case for our multibet on Saturday with the horse racing bookmakers all a little more generous with the odds than we were anticipating. Hopefully, we are on the right side of the winners during the afternoon of action at Eagle Farm.

Eagle Farm R3 #13 - Ocean Zar $3.30

Has two wins and a second in four tries over this track and distance, her only failure is when she lost her action two starts back and was quickly pulled up by her jockey. That would be a slight concern here but she was much better last time out when running on strongly to grab the runner-up spot. She does well in these big fields as she likes to wind her way through from the back and she should do that again here.

Eagle Farm R6 #11 - Tojaki $4.00

The winner of three of her four starts over this 1400m trip, the return to the distance after running over 1200m on the first two runs of this prep will be a big help to her. She should be nearing full fitness on her third start so it looks the right time for her to step back out to this distance again. She is adaptable when it comes to underfoot conditions which is always helpful in the autumn and after only 10 career starts, she might have a little better still to come.

Eagle Farm R8 #2 - Zarastro $3.30

A Listed winner on his most recent visit to this track which made it a perfect 4/4 when he has raced at Eagle Farm. He tried 1400m at Gold Coast on his most recent run which might have been a little too far for him, dropping back to 1000m here. He has yet to salute over a trip as short as this one but he is one who will look to make the speed here and that might just help him to overcome the drop in distance in a winnable grade for him.

Stats and Insights

  • Eagle Farm is more than 2000m around with a straight of 434m which is a good run for home.
  • Nobody has ridden more winners at this track in the last year than James Orman. He rides Zarastro.
  • Inside barriers are preferred in the sprints. The longer distances are still a marginal advantage but nothing like as big.
  • The track is a Good 4 at present but there is rain forecast for Saturday.

Two track specialists and a distance specialist make up our multibet on Saturday from Eagle Farm. They are all at fair odds given the pluses that they bring to the track so we are hopeful that we can be amongst the winners again this weekend.
