Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | September 21st.

We have three picks for the Randwick card which combine to make a $525 multibet. Two of them are unexposed types and the other is one of the best-known runners in the country! The betting sites all have them as strong chances so let's get stuck in.

Randwick R3 #6 - Bear On The Loose $2.50

A very progressive type when trained in the UK, he won on his first start here at Rosehill. Was stuck out wide in the only other race he had in that prep, over 1800m at this track. That is an easy enough run to forgive and he has only had seven races in his life so there should still be plenty more to come from him. Fresh is clearly no issue as his Australian debut was after 288 days off so has a leading chance.

Randwick R7 #6 - Autumn Glow $2.00

This is a cracking Tea Rose Stakes in prospect. The selection fits the ‘could be anything’ bill after just two career starts with wins in both of them. They were both at Rosehill over 1300m, the second of which was a Group 3 contest where she saluted by two lengths but also with lots more than that in hand. She has plenty of stronger rivals here which is going to make this much more of a test now that she tries Group 2 company but she shapes as if she is going to take it in her stride.

Randwick R8 #6 - Fangirl $2.10

A mare who needs absolutely no introduction, the race probably wasn’t run to suit on her return to action. She was far from disgraced that day and the extra distance is going to be a big plus for her, back up to 1600m here. This is also a sizeable drop in grade for her down from a Group 1 contest into a Listed one. It is a solid race for the grade despite that with Zougotcha, her main danger, who was just in front of her last time out. Fangirl can reverse that form though.

Stats and Insights

  • In New South Wales, there is no bigger track than Randwick which is more than 2,200m around.
  • James McDonald has a 23.6% strike rate at the track in the last year. He rides both Autumn Glow and Fangirl.
  • Randwick is a track where the inside barriers are more of a benefit in 1800m and 2000m races rather than sprints.
  • Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott have a 23% strike rate at Randwick so far this season. They run Bear On The Loose.

On paper, Saturday’s Randwick card should be an excellent watch with some very smart horses on show. The horse racing bookmakers are there to be taken on once more with our three selections which make up our multibet racing tips.
