Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | December 21st

Pakenham is not a track that we visit often for our Saturday multibet so it is nice to take a look over a good quality card there this weekend. We have picked out three favourites with which to take on the horse racing bookmakers.

Pakenham R3 #10 - Samangu $2.20

Has improved with each of her three starts, winning her last two. Those three have all seen her be given progressively more aggressive rides, going from the front on the most recent occasion and running her rivals into the floor. She has an excellent barrier to attack from again here in two. Good ground suits her well, winning both of her starts when the ground has been on top. Although this is a deeper contest than last time out, she shapes as if she is more than capable of taking that step up in her stride.

Pakenham R4 #7 - Divus Romulus $2.90

Both of his career wins have come on good ground, producing his best efforts on a sound surface. Has been doing some good work late on in the piece so far this prep, including over 2400m last time out. He is up to 2500m on this occasion which looks sure to suit, especially as that was on Soft 6. He has run at Pakenham just once in his career, resulting in a win. There could be more to come from him, especially if this is run to suit a little bit more than this last outing was.

Pakenham R6 #6 - Running By $2.50

An impressive winner of the Inglis Bracelet last time out, enjoying the return to good ground. She was well beaten on a heavy track the time before in a Group 2 at Flemington but that is form that can be easily be forgiven. Black-type races have been beyond her so far, 0/6 in those contests but she is 5/8 in her others, an impressive record. Has two wins and two second-place finished in five starts over this distance of 1400m and gets an interesting jockey booking in the form of Saffie Osborne.

Stats and Insights

  • Pakenham is a galloping track of 2400m around.
  • Grahame Begg and Jordan Childs have a 30% strike rate when they combine this season as they do with Samangu in the first leg.
  • There is a 300m home straight at Pakenham with the last 600m all gradually uphill.
  • All three winners for Saffie Osborne in Australia have been on horses trained by Ciaron Maher as is Running By in the final leg.

There is plenty of money on offer at Pakenham on Saturday with an excellent card of racing. We head there to take on the betting sites with our three top tips on the card. A clean sweep of winners would see a tidy return on our multibet!
