Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | January 25th

We have scoured the betting sites for the best selections this week for our multibet. Randwick is the track of choice with some smart handicappers on show. We have picked out three who could be a little bit better than this level next season.

Randwick R3 #1 - Clear Thinking $3.20

Unbeaten in the first three starts of her career. They have all come on softer ground than she is likely to face here but her pedigree suggests that she is going to be better for encountering top of the ground. A wide barrier over 1200m has made her a backable price to put into this, she would be very close to odds on if she were on the inside. Has won from on the speed and from miles off the pace so it doesn't seem to matter to her how she is ridden, she just keeps outclassing them.

Randwick R5 #2 - Don Diego De Vega $2.40

Listed placed when trained in France. He has had two runs since moving to Australia, second in the first of those before winning over 1800m at this track. Drops back to 1600m here for his first start of the prep but there is a genuine front runner in Father's Day in here so the hope is that they won’t go too slow. He has two wins and a second in three first-up runs so fresh is clearly no issue for him. He will not have seen ground as quick as this but connections are smart enough not to risk him if they think he won’t cope.

Randwick R7 #1 - Bonita Queen $2.90

Good or soft ground is fine for this mare who has only failed to finish out of the frame on one occasion in 10 career starts. All of her wins have come over 1100m so far but she has only an extra 100m to cover here. She does her best work when she is able to get on the front end, winning at Wyong last time. That was the first time in four starts that she has saluted first up which is impressive. Her record on her second start is two wins and a second in three starts so there is a strong chance that she is going to improve here.

Stats and Insights

  • Randwick is a big galloping track of more than 2,200m around.
  • Bjorn Baker has an ROI of +101 at Randwick this season. He runs Bonita Queen.
  • Inner barriers are preferred but more so over some of the longer distances like 2,000m and 2,400m.
  • No hoop has had more winners at this track in the last 12 months than Jason Collett who rides Don Diego De Vega.

Our three multibet selections this week have only had 20 races between them. They have won 10 of those and the horse racing bookmakers have them all short odds this week. Further progression looks likely from them all and that winning rate can be improved upon.
