Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | October 26th

The horse racing bookmakers are going to be concentrating on the Cox Plate this weekend. That means that the winners elsewhere in the country might go under the radar a bit so we have taken a trip to Doomben to try to find them.

Doomben R1 #11 - Street Chase $2.20

Impressive on his first start of this season. That came over this track and distance, saluting in a maiden race by three lengths, The drop in distance (albeit a small one) to 1000m at Eagle Farm last time he was seen was against him. He did not pick up quickly enough but was doing some strong work in the final 100m. The return to this distance looks sure to suit and after just three races, he should have plenty more improvement to come.

Doomben R4 #12 - Navyonthehighway $2.10

The winner of three of her four career starts so far, she has saluted in both of her races run at Doomben. She won over 1110m here last time out, stepping up to 1350m this weekend. She won on a Heavy 8 surface on her debut over 1200m so the stamina for this new distance should not be an issue for her. Her most recent win was on a Good 3 so she has no concerns no matter what the weather does. She is still a blank page and fits the could be anything bracket.

Doomben R6 #1 - Superalloy $3.80

Didn’t manage to get his head in front in five starts last season. He showed more than enough ability to think that he is going to be able to do so. On his final outing, he was third in the Group 2 Sires Produce. The winner of that contest was Broadsiding who already had a Group 1 win to his credit at that point and has two more since. He is a $6 shot in the Cox Plate and this gelding starts his new season at Doomben in this contest!

Stats and Insights

  • Doomben is a 1700m oval track with a straight of around 350m.
  • Kyle Wilson-Taylor has ridden more winners for Stuart Kendrick than any other trainer. They combine in the first with Street Chase.
  • The inside barriers have a significant advantage over almost all distances at Doomben, but especially in the sprints.
  • Chris and Corey Munce have made a quick start to the new season at Doomben. They have eight winners from 36 runners for a 22.22% strike rate.

The three selections that we are taking on the betting sites with on Saturday have a combined 12 races between them. None of them has got close to the ceiling of their ability yet but each of them already boasts the strongest form in their respective contests at the weekend.
