Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | July 27th

The last Saturday of the season is upon us and we head to Caulfield. The betting sites have all three of our picks on top and that is no surprise. The middle leg of the three in particular is going to be very short after a seven-length win last time out.

Caulfield R1 #2 - Dom $2.80

Absolutely smashed his rivals to bits in his debut win, saluting by five and a half lengths. He is proven over this distance which is a big plus compared to his main market rival who has a pair of wins over 1000m and 1200m. She was ridden by Blake Shinn in her most recent win but Shinn is on Dom here which has to be a massive plus. He is in the key position to have ridden both to victory and that can be the deciding factor here.

Caulfield R7 #2 - Recommendation $1.50

Could not have been more impressive on his return to action, turning the Group 3 John Monash into a procession. He hit the line seven lengths to the good, with a pair of his rivals in this race well behind him on that occasion. An extra 100m is not going to be an issue for him and the underfoot conditions are going to suit with some juice in the ground. If he can run to that same level once more, he is going to be very hard to beat again.

Caulfield R9 #15 - Elouyou $3.00

Has made a very smart start to his career, not out of the first three in his eight career starts, making the first two in seven of those runs. He has two wins in three starts over this 1400m distance so this is his ideal trip at this stage of his career. All ground comes alike to him and he has been kept semi-fresh with some nice gaps between his races. That seems to be helping him keep his form at a strong level and he is capable of closing out his season with another win.

Stats and Insights

  • Caulfield is almost 2100m around with a home straight of 368m.
  • No jockey has ridden more winners at Caulfield this season than Blake Shinn. He is in the saddle on both Dom and Recommendation.
  • Inside barriers are a bigger advantage from distances of 1400m to 1800m rather than the sprint trips.
  • Trainer Scott Cameron has only had four metro runners in Victoria this season, none have finished worse than second. He saddles the final leg Elouyou.

So, that’s it! The final Saturday multibet of the season is up. We hope to have one last successful tussle with the horse racing bookmakers before the calendar turns to August and we start all over again. The spring carnival is closing in and we can’t wait to get those Group 1 races on again.
