The horse racing bookmakers have put up some interesting prices on three selections that we like at Morphettville Parks this weekend. There is a course specialist as well as one who is unbeaten over the distance they are running over.

Morphettville Parks R2 #4 - Call Me Vexatious $2.00

Has strong form at this track so far this prep, a win two starts back and then a solid second last time out with another pair of places prior to that. Shapes as if he is worth a try over this longer trip again after those strong runs and this is easier than trying to lump an impost of 61.5kg last time out. Goes on any ground and this looks like a gilt-edged opportunity for him to pick up career win number six.

Morphettville Parks R3 #4 - Klabel $2.60

A drop in trip in a Listed class race last time out perhaps combined to see him only finish fifth. He had three wins and a close second in his four starts prior to that and can resume that run of form now back at a more suitable level. He has a win and a second in his two runs over this course and distance. Relatively lightly-raced enough for his age, there might still be a little more to come from him here.

Morphettville Parks R7 #1 - Air Assault $2.20

Won the Listed Balaklava Cup last time out when going straight to the front and just kept finding. This is a lesser level so it is interesting that connections have him in this grade now, looking to build on that level of confidence from him. He has six wins in 19 starts so far in his career which is an excellent strike rate. Unbeaten in three runs over 1550m, he has five wins in the last 12 months and looks like he can add another to his record here.

Stats and Insights

  • Morphettville is a huge 2.339 around, one of the biggest tracks going. The Parks track is inside but still an excellent test at 2,100m.
  • 10 of Andrew Gluyas’s 14 runners at the Parks track so far this season have finished in the first three. He is represented by the final leg, Air Assault.
  • There is a small inside barrier bias at Morphettville Parks but nothing significant.
  • Nicole Irwin has only had three runners at Morphettville Parks this season, producing a winner and a second. Call Me Vexatious represents the stable.

It is an interesting card at Morphettville’s Parks track on Saturday afternoon. It is not a track that we visit often for our multibet but like the look of three selections on the card. They are all prominent odds on the betting sites suggesting they have excellent chances.
