Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend| October 28th

We have some progressive types picked out for Royal Randwick on Saturday that have been plucked from the black book.

It’s the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes at Randwick on Saturday, but that looks a little too competitive for a multibet tip, so we have passed over the feature race in favour of three other bets on the card in races that don’t look quite so tough to unpick.

Randwick R3 #11 - Florino $3.50

His name will be in plenty of black books after an excellent first prep produced three wins and a second from four starts. He had to dig deep to win at Newcastle in June when last in race action, but he got on top close to the line over 1200m. He starts this preparation over 1400m, which should help him take his form to a new level. He has trialled well at Scone and can add to his wins on his return to action.

Randwick R9 #11 - Arctic Glamour $2.30

Rapidly improving, the filly has made a good step forward with her four races and won a Listed race at this track over 1400m last time, doing the best of her work in the final 200m. That suggests that she will improve further for the rise in distance here to 1600m, while natural improvement on just her fifth start should also allow her to produce a stronger run again. She looks the type to rate a fair bit higher than her current mark of 76 sooner rather than later.

Randwick R10 #4 - Gringotts $2.60

He looked a progressive type last prep, yet to quite get back to that level again this season, but he has been running with plenty of credit in similar races. The inside barrier should see him have a kinder run than when being a little bit wide the last twice. He only had eight starts so far, so there should be a touch more to come, and this looks like an excellent opportunity for him to get his head back in front.

Stats and Insights

  • Randwick is the biggest track in New South Wales, with a complete circuit covering 2,220m
  • The straight is uphill with 410m from the home turn to the winning line.
  • No jockey has more winners at Randwick this season than Tyler Schiller. He has the mount on our final leg, Gringotts.
  • Inside barriers are preferred over all trips, although the bias is not significant over most. It is the 2000m distance that has the most pronounced bias here.

Cards like the one at Randwick on Saturday are always exciting for those who enjoy the battle with the horse racing bookmakers. It is an opportunity to see whether the progressive types we noted in the past can fulfil their potential and land us some winners.
