Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | December 28th

Randwick is always a great place to visit for a multibet given that it is a very fair track where the cream generally rises to the top. There is some competitive racing there on Saturday afternoon but the odds of our three on the betting sites suggest they are all huge players.

Saturday’s Multibet Selections

Randwick R3 #2 - Emmadella $3.60

Fourth in a Group 3 on her final start of her last prep over 1600m so it was no shock that she found 1200m on the short side on her first start of this one. She shaped well enough in fourth that day and now has blinkers back on. Her record when first-up is not good. A third is the best that she has done when fresh so she is very much the type who is going to step up on that run. Goes on any ground and will appreciate stretching her legs out to 1400m.

Randwick R5 #3 - Jewellery $3.60

A close third on her first run at this track last time out. That followed up a race at Rosehill when she had absolutely no luck in running. Has a win third up in the past and is going to strip a little fitter here. Good ground is ideal for her as is this distance so she has a lot in her favour. She has a solid level of form when she has raced in this grade in the past and she should be able to add to that with another here.

Randwick R8 #5 - Saltcoats $3.40

Was a bit of a surprise winner at this track last time out given his poor record early on in a prep. Has a win and a third in a pair of third-up starts so far in his career so there is a strong chance that he is going to be able to step up on that most recent win. Boasts a solid record on good ground and a strong level of form at a higher level than this. It was a Bm88 that he won last time out, in a Bm84 here so should be able to get himself right in the mix once more.

Stats and Insights

  • Randwick is more than 2,200m around with an uphill straight of over 400m.
  • No trainer has had more winners at this track over the last 12 months than Chris Waller who runs Saltcoats.
  • Inside barriers are preferred but they are more of a help over longer trips than they are over sprint distances.
  • John Thompson and Nash Rawiller have an 18% win rate (33/180) when they team up as they do with Emmadella. They have not teamed up at all this season or last!

It is one final battle with the horse racing bookmakers with a multibet at Randwick on Saturday afternoon. It is a card with some tricky races on it which means that the payout on offer is a good size if all three of the picks salute.
