Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend | June 29th

We head to Caulfield on Saturday as we take on the horse racing bookmakers with our $1,123 Multibet. All three of the picks are towards the head of the market but they all deserve their places in the betting.

Caulfield R6 #15 - Baraqiel $3.60

With a scratch, this reserve runner gets in and he can take full advantage of the situation as he is yet to get beaten in three races so far in his career. Is up in class here but he has been a smart winner, showing plenty of pace in all three of his wins. He absolutely thrashed his rivals in a BM78 last time out at Swan Hill in a good time and although he is already a five-year-old, he is repaying his connections' patience and looks capable of being open to better still to come.

Caulfield R8 #1 - Fleetwood $2.60

Godolphin gelding has won four of his nine career starts, including his last two. He won over this distance of 1000m in his latest race at Randwick, beating The Black Cloud who has franked the form when winning at Flemington last weekend and looking a very smart type in the process. He has won on all sorts of ground so will not have any problems with conditions however they end up. He can go from the front or be just off the pace, the latter perhaps the right option here with a couple of other pace angles.

Caulfield R10 #6 - Chorlton Lane $2.40

Winner of both of his starts so far this prep, taking his career record to 5/10. He last ran on May 4 which is a positive for him as he has an exceptional record when he runs fresh. Both of those wins have come at solid times for the level and he has not had many opportunities so there should be plenty more to come from him. Celine Gaudray got on well with him last time out and is in the saddle again.

Stats and Insights

  • Caulfield is a little under 2100m around with a home straight of almost 400m which makes it a fair track for both those on the pace and those in behind.
  • Ben Allen has a 30% strike rate when teaming with Leon & Troy Corstens this season; they combine with Baraqiel in race six.
  • The advantage of the inside barriers is the most prevalent over the 1400m and 1600m distances.
  • Celine Gaudray has nine winners for Ciaron Maher this season, the most she has ridden for any trainer.

Our three selections in this weekend’s multibet are all unexposed types who should be able to improve a little further which should make them all hard to beat. As such, they should be able to confirm their positions at the head of the market on the betting sites
