Best Multibet Tips of the Weekend| December 30th

We are off to Moonee Valley on Saturday for our final multibet selections of 2023, which could pay out $630.

There are some exciting handicaps on the Moonee Valley card this weekend, including a quality-looking BM100, which has the middle leg of our multitip. Some of our selections are relatively unexposed, and so are black book types for the future.

Moonee Valley R2 #2 - A Little Deep $2.10

She has only had four starts in her life, running well in each. She has only once raced at this distance of 1000m on a Good 4 surface, and it was a visually impressive win at Moe by 2.25l. She is in great hands, and while she would not be one of the stars of the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stable, she retains plenty of potential for better to come, and this speed track has the potential to suit her very well.

Moonee Valley R5 #1 - Dunkel $2.40

The South Australian Derby winner back in May, he will appreciate the step back out in distance after making his return over 1800m. He stuck to his task well to finish second but did not have the pace to claw back the eventual winner. Out to 2000m here and entitled to come on for that return and strip fitter here. This might still be a little on the short side for him, but he is the class act, hence his impost of 61kg.

Moonee Valley R9 #6 - Peace Treaty $2.50

The winner of two of her three starts so far, she is the top-rated and well-treated at these weights. She had a single start in her last prep, winning at Ballarat before being put away over the winter to help her mature. Fourth at Cranbourne on her first-up start this time, she was too keen next up at Mornington in a race not run to suit but still managed to salute. A few of these like to race on the speed, which should help her settle and see her improve again.

Stats and Insights

  • Moonee Valley is an 1800m track in circumference with a run-in of less than 200m, which makes it one of the shortest straights anywhere in the world.
  • Inside barriers hold a slight advantage over most distances.
  • Damian Lane has a 31% strike rate at the track this season, with 13 winners from 42 starts. He is on Peace Treaty in the final leg.
  • Ciaron Maher and David Eustace are the leading trainers at the track, with 55% of their runners this season finishing in the first three. They have A Little Deep in Race 2.

It is a fascinating card at Moonee Valley on Saturday with some lovely types who could progress into strong performers in the autumn looking to put their credentials on the line. All of our selections already have smart winning form to their name but are also capable of making further improvement.
