There is plenty of NBA action to keep you entertained this Saturday, with nine games taking place in the association across the course of the day. Our multi for the weekend will include a couple of big ones, with a player prop for the Timberwolves vs Knicks game as well as a line bet as the Thunder look to back up their dominant performance against the Cavs when they take on the Mavs. Below, you can take a look at the three bets that make up our multi for the day’s action.

Minnesota Timberwolves @ New York Knicks
18th of January, 10.40am AEDT, Madison Square Garden
Josh Hart has always been a good rebounder for his size, but lately he has taken it to a whole new level. For the season he averages a career-high 9.6 rebounds per game, and that is in no small part due to how heavily he has been crashing the glass since Christmas. Inclusive of the Knicks’ Christmas Day clash against the Spurs, Hart has had double-figure rebounds in 12 of his 13 games, including his last seven on the trot, and often he has done it comfortably. In that time, he is averaging just a tick under 13 per game, but the rebounding line that betting sites have set for him is still at just 10.5. He is hunting them down like a man possessed at the minute, and having passed that number seven times on the trot and five more in a row prior to the last time he failed to hit it, this looks like extremely good value. The focus in this game will likely be squarely on Karl-Anthony Towns and the two players who took his spot on the Timberwolves’ roster in Julius Randle and Donte DiVencenzo, rather than Josh Hart’s rebounding numbers, but the best value is often found outside of the most obvious markets, and this is a prime example of that. Hart should cruise past this number, and if you wanted to go up to 12 or 13 rebounds depending on which betting agency you are using for better odds, the value will probably still be there.
Utah Jazz @ New Orleans Pelicans
18th of January, 11.10am AEDT, Smoothie King Center
Zion Williamson is finally back for the Pelicans, giving this injury-ravaged team a welcome boost as we near the All-Star break. But unsurprisingly, the Pels are taking it slowly slowly with the former number one draft pick. He returned for just one game before missing two more, while he also sat their latest game out, the second leg of a back-to-back after Zion had played two in a row. He is also getting fairly limited minutes. In those three games since he has returned, Williamson has played 28, 28 and 24 minutes, and he will likely once again play a similar number in this game. With that in mind, the line that NBA betting sites have set for him of around 24.5 looks much too high. Williamson has looked pretty good in his three games back even if he is far from the most in-shape player in the league, but even so he has not managed more than 22 points in any of those games – and that’s having had two excellent shooting games, one which saw him go 10-14 and another 9-15. In the minutes he is playing he is being productive, but he’s not likely to get enough shots in that time to have 25 points unless he barely misses any of them. His line given his likely minutes restriction should realistically be closer to 20 or 21, and further benefitting this bet is the fact that the Pelicans are 9-point favourites, so there is every chance of a one-sided result which will see Williamson’s minutes limited even further. Expect him to score in the high teens or low 20s in this game, making the under 24.5 points at basically even money look like a good bet.
OKC Thunder @ Dallas Mavericks
18th of January, 11.40am AEDT, American Airlines Center
The Mavs might have knocked the Thunder out of last season’s playoffs, but the tables have turned this season and right now there is a huge gap between these two teams. Dallas are understandably struggling, with the extended absence of Luka Doncic having a massive impact on their fortunes and not helped in the slightest by the fact that Kyrie Irving has now missed six of their last seven games too. He is questionable for this game, but even with him in the lineup they have been struggling. The Mavs have lost their last three games, two to the Nuggets and one to the Pelicans, and now have to face a Thunder team which has just thrown down the gauntlet to the Cavs and Celtics. The Thunder hadn’t lost for a very long time until the Cavs finally broke that streak a little over a week ago in a close game, but OKC got their chance for revenge pretty quickly and took full advantage. In the rematch, back in Oklahoma City, they absolutely dominated a Cavs team which had to that point lost just five games all season, racing out to a 38-point lead by the end of the third quarter before taking their foot off the gas with their reserves on the floor in the last to ultimately win by 20. That was perhaps the most impressive performance by any team all season, and if they play anything like that in this game they will absolutely wipe the floor with the Mavs. The line looks too short at 6 points, though it is undoubtedly influenced by the fact that this is the second leg of a travelling back to back for the Thunder. But so dominant was their victory against the Cavs, their starters got plenty of rest, with Jalen Williams playing 30 minutes, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 29 (for 40 points), Cason Wallace 26 and Lu Dort just 19. They will be well-rested and riding a wave of confidence, and against a struggling Mavericks team should be able to cruise past this line.
