US Open Multi Bet
Backing Sinner and Tiafoe in a multi bet can get you a 6.8x return on the US Open men’s semi-finals.

It’s semi-final time at the US Open, with the last four remaining men clashing on Friday in New York for a spot in the final. We’ve analysed the odds across all betting sites in Australia to come up with the sharpest multi bet on the day’s action—read on to find out.

Jannik Sinner vs Jack Draper

Arthur Ashe Stadium, September 7th, 5:00 AEST (approx)

Prediction: Total games under 36.5 @ 1.90

Jack Draper has done brilliantly to make his way through to a maiden Grand Slam semi-final at the US Open. However, we expect his hot run will end abruptly at the hands of Jannik Sinner on Friday afternoon in New York.

The Brit has been playing some excellent tennis, but Sinner is a bad matchup for him. Draper likes to hit through opponents from the baseline; trouble is, Sinner does that too, just betting than Draper does. We expect Sinner’s consistency and power will be too much for Draper, and he will start overhitting and leaking errors as a result.

Bottom line, we don’t see this being a highly competitive, drawn-out affair. Sinner is better across the board than Draper and should dust this one off in straight sets, comfortably under 36.5 games. There’s safety in this bet too, because even a dropped set, or an upset in Draper’s favour will still likely fall under the 36.5 game mark.

Taylor Fritz vs Frances Tiafoe

Arthur Ashe Stadium, September 7th, 9:00 AEST

Prediction: Total games over 40.5 @ 1.90

Onto the even’s main event, where two Americans clash in the semi-final of a Grand Slam for the first time in two decades.

Betting agencies such as Bet365 have Fritz as a heavy favourite in this match, but we don’t think it will be one-sided at all. Yes, Fritz has a lot going for him, but Tiafoe does too. He has been to the semi-finals of a Grand Slam before – in New York no less – plus has a 20-4 record at the US Open since 2020.

We expect this match will entirely live up to the hype, and go all the way to a fifth set. Even if it ends in four, there’s a good chance that the 40.5 game mark is covered regardless, as Fritz typically plays a lot of tiebreaks.

Prediction: Tiafoe +3.5 handicap @ 1.90

Our final leg of this multi bet also comes from Fritz vs Tiafoe. We suggest backing Tiafoe’s +3.5 game handicap. While we think Tiafoe has an excellent shot at actually winning this match, that bet feels a little too risky to include in a multi. Instead, take his handicap, which is much safer.

As touched on above, Fritz plays a lot of tiebreaks and tight sets. Even if he does win, his sets will be 7-6, 7-5 and 6-4 most likely. Tiafoe, on the other hand, is prone to surges of momentum, and has won at least one set by 6-3 or better in each of his matches so far at the US Open. This will nicely balance out any damage if he does lose, and he should comfortably fall within the +3.5 game margin regardless of whether he wins or loses.

Multi Bet of the Weekend

The US Open has been whittled down to just four remaining, soon to be two that will contest Sunday’s final. Before then, considering taking the three conservative yet lucrative bets we’ve outlined above, which could well net you an almost seven-fold return this weekend when combined in a multi bet.
