How Alcaraz, Swiatek and Kokkinakis can earn you a 10x return with a US Open multi bet

Looking to make a US Open multi bet today? Then you’re in luck. Here at BettingTop10 Australia, we know our tennis bets. We’ve looked over all of the round one odds at the US Open, and come up with a multi bet that can earn you a 10x return this week! Read on to find out how.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Li Tu

Arthur Ashe Stadium, August 28th, 9:00 AEST

Prediction: First set over 8.5 games @ 2.00

Carlos Alcaraz takes on Li Tu in his first match at the US Open in New York, in what many betting sites are predicting will be a one-sided affair.

Big picture, we agree: Alcaraz will win this one in three sets. However, we believe there’s also scope to make a healthy return on this clash with some of the odds offered by bookmaker Bet365

Alcaraz comes into the year’s final Grand Slam as the betting favourite at most bookies, having won the French Open and Wimbledon over the past three months. However, there’s also cause for some concern over how Alcaraz will perform on Tuesday in New York.

The Spaniard has only played one match since losing to Novak Djokovic in the Paris Olympics gold medal match. It did not make for good watching, with the 21-year-old playing some of his worst tennis of the year and falling to French veteran Gael Monfils.

This means that Alcaraz is on a two-match losing streak, with very little recent tennis under his belt. Add in the fact that he twisted his ankle while practicing on Friday, and he may well not be his usual flawless self in the first round.

Li Tu, on the other hand, has done well to qualify for a Grand Slam for the first time. With three wins already under his belt, he comes into Tuesday’s match full of momentum and familiar with the conditions.

The confluence of these factors makes it entirely believable that he will put up a good fight in the first set, despite the gulf between these two players’ rankings (Alcaraz is No 3, Tu is No 188). That’s why we’re predicting the first set to be over 8.5 games, at a minimum.

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Thanasi Kokkinakis

Grandstand Stadium, August 28th, 1:00 AEST

Tsitsipas to win and over 39.5 games @ 2.60

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Thanasi Kokkinakis have met once before on the ATP Tour, and it was an epic five-setter at the Australian Open in 2021.

While we’re not convinced their second meeting will go to five, we are confident that it will be a competitive battle that stretches beyond the 39.5 game mark.

Kokkinakis has developed a reputation as something of a marathon man at Grand Slams. Each of his last three first-round matches have gone beyond 39.5 games, while eight of his last 12 completed matches at majors have 39 games or longer as well.

The US Open is Tsitsipas’ worst Grand Slam of the season, with the Greek holding a 8-7 record here. He is far from invincible this year as well, having fallen out of the world’s top 10 and recently losing first round at UTS New York.

Combine Tsitsipas’ record in New York, with the players’ history together and Kokkinakis’ reputation, and this match is a recipe for another epic.

Iga Swiatek vs Kamilla Rakhimova

Arthur Ashe Stadium, August 28th, 2:00 AEST

Total games under 16.5 @ 2.00

Rounding out our first-round US Open multi bet, we have Iga Swiatek taking on Kamilla Rakhimova.

Swiatek also has a reputation at Grand Slams, and it’s virtually the opposite of Kokkinakis’. The Pole is known as the ‘bagel factory’, because she routinely cooks up 6-0 sets in the early rounds of tournaments. With mismatches like her one against Rakhimova in New York, the smell of fresh bread is in the air already.

Four of Swiatek’s last six first-round Grand Slam matches have seen her opponent win four games or less. In her career overall, she’s played 22 first-round matches at majors, and ended the match in 16.5 games or less on 12 occasions.

The fact that Rakhimova is world No 104 and lost in qualifying (she gets a spot in the main draw as a lucky loser), plus Swiatek is highly motivated here after losing in New York, all serve to make this bet more likely.
